What to expect

  1. Shree Narayani Dham Temple

    30 min

Sri Narayani Dham is a religious place located in Dhankawadi area of Lonavala. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Narayani and is one of the famous places of sightseeing in Lonavala.
The temple was constructed in 2002 and is a beautiful white marble structure. The main deity of the temple is Ma Narayani and on either side of the main shrine are shrines dedicated to Ganapathi, Hanuman and other Hindu deities. The deities are beautifully decorated with glittering jewellers. The entrance is a 4 storeyed structure, there are fountains lined up on the pathway from entrance to temple.

  2. Lion's Point

    1 hour

Lion's Point is a vantage point located midway between Bhushi Dam and Aamby valley in Lonavala. It is one of the popular viewpoints in Lonavala and also among the must visit places in Lonavala.
The view from the Lions Point is majestic and panoramic. One would see dozens of small waterfalls, lush green hills and lakes around during monsoon season. The sunrise and sunset views from here are mesmerizing. The wind is extremely strong at this place and it was quite thrilling to see many adventurous people get close to the edge to get 'that' living-on-the-edge photograph. The drive to the point is also equally scenic
The Shiv-ling peak is a conical peak can be seen towards the left side of Lion's Point.

  3. Bhushi Dam

    1 hour

Bhushi Dam is a masonry dam on the Indrayani River in Lonavala, Maharashtra. Bhushi Dam is one of the top Lonavala tourist places and a very popular weekend getaway from Pune and Mumbai. The Dam is located in the backdrop of scenic hilly terrains between Lonavala and INS Shivaji.
The dam was built in late 1860s for the Great Indian Peninsular Railway as a source of water for their steam engines. Water from the dam was carried to Lonavala, Khandala and the reversing station of the railways by cast-iron pipes.
In the rainy season, when the Bhushi dam overflows, the water flows over a series of steps and then over some easily accessible rocky terrain. The terrain and the water make for a fun combination and this is why Bhushi dam gets crowded on weekends as well as during the holidays. There is a waterfall located very close to the dam, which is formed when the water gushes out through the dam during the monsoon months. Swimming is restricted due to the unpredictable flow of the water during the monsoon months.
The lake created by Bhushi Dam is also used for power generation by Tata Power.

  4. Pawna Lake

    30 min

Pavana Lake, also known as Pavana Dam Reservoir and Pawna Lake, is a reservoir turned artificial lake in the Indian state of Maharashtra, formed by the Pavana Dam across the Pavana River in Pune district

  5. Bhaja Caves

    2 hours

Bhaje Buddhist Caves are a group of 22 rock-cut caves dating back to the 2nd century BC located off the Mumbai - Pune expressway near the city of Pune, India. The caves are 400 feet above the village of Bhaja, on an important ancient trade route running from the Arabian Sea eastward into the Deccan Plateau.

  6. Lohagad Fort

    2 hours

Lohagad is one of the many hill forts of Maharashtra state in India. Situated close to the hill station Lonavala and 52 km northwest of Pune, Lohagad rises to an elevation of 1,033 m above sea level. The fort is connected to the neighboring Visapur fort by a small range.
